Report of Session on Menstrual Hygiene

The Health and Social Welfare Committee of Students Nurses Association, Manipal College of Nursing (MCON), MAHE, Manipal organized a session on “Menstrual Hygiene” on 5th August 2023 between 09.00 am to 10.00 am for the first year BSc Nursing students. Mrs. Pratibha, Assistant Professor, Department of OBG Nursing, MCON, MAHE, was the resource person. The session focused on rituals followed during menstruation in different religions, the availability of different sanitary products, how to maintain menstrual hygiene including usage and disposal of sanitary products, and emphasized the simple ways to maintain environmental hygiene in the college, hostel and hospital. Around 104 students attended the session and it was concluded with words of gratitude expressed by Mrs. Ranjani P, Assistant Professor, Department of OBG Nursing, MCON, MAHE. The session contributes to SDG: Goal 3- Good health and wellbeing.
