Adjunct Faculty Visit Report

Ms. Alice Stella, Retired Nursing Officer and National Faculty in Palliative Care, visited Manipal College of Nursing, MAHE, Manipal as an Adjunct Faculty member from 25th to 28th February 2026. During her visit, she actively engaged with the 4th‑semester BSc Nursing students as part of the Palliative Care Module. The module was delivered on 26th February 2026 through an innovative workshop-based approach, during which essential topics in palliative care were discussed and complemented with relevant clinical demonstrations. Her sessions enabled students to gain practical insights and develop a deeper understanding of holistic palliative care.
In addition to the module sessions, Ms. Stella served as a key resource person for the two‑day workshop titled “Advancing Nursing Practice through Palliative Care”, organized by the Department of Fundamentals of Nursing and the Department of Community Health Nursing on 27th and 28th February 2026. The workshop aimed to strengthen nursing professionals' competencies in delivering compassionate, evidence-based palliative care, and her expertise significantly enhanced the quality of the programme.
Her visit contributed to institutional efforts aligned with SDG 3 (Good Health and Well‑Being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by fostering collaborative learning, enhancing nursing education, and promoting improved palliative care practices.
