Guest Lecture on “Designing Scoping Reviews – The Arksey and O’Malley Methodology”

The Department of Medical Surgical Nursing at Manipal College of Nursing, MAHE, Manipal, hosted an enlightening guest lecture titled “Designing Scoping Reviews: The Arksey and O’Malley Methodology” on August 7, 2024. This engaging session, held from 9:00 am to 10:30 am, was specifically designed for PhD scholars and faculty members.
Dr Vishnu Renjith, an alumni of MCON, a distinguished academic with credentials including RN, MSN, PhD, and roles as Program Director and Lecturer at the School of Nursing & Midwifery, Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland; Honorary Senior Lecturer at the School of Medicine, Cardiff University; and Adjunct Faculty at Manipal College of Nursing, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, led the lecture. Dr Renjith offered a comprehensive exploration of scoping reviews, including distinctions between systematic and scoping reviews, the six stages of the Arksey and O’Malley framework, and techniques for writing scoping review reports.
The session was both insightful and inspiring, fostering a deeper understanding of these methodologies and their practical applications. It was well-attended by 24 participants, comprising PhD scholars and faculty members.
