Report of health education on “Post-Mastectomy Exercises and Radiation Safety”

The Health Education Committee of SNA 2025–26 organized individual health education sessions on Post-Mastectomy Exercises and Radiation Safety in the Oncology Wards of Kasturba Hospital from 26th to 30th August 2025, between 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm. The sessions were conducted by committee members using flash cards and flip charts, under the supervision of Dr. Savitha Prabhu, Assistant Professor, Department of Mental Health Nursing, and Mrs. Janet Prameela D’Souza, Assistant Professor, Department of Medical-Surgical Nursing, Manipal College of Nursing.

A total of 12 participants, including family members, attended the sessions. Five B.Sc. Nursing students—Freena Castelino, Lini Biju, Trisha D’Souza, Serena Leonita Isaacs, and Dilshan Mendonca—actively participated in delivering the program.

At the end of each session, feedback was collected, which reflected a positive and encouraging response from the participants.

This program contributed to Sustainable Development Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being, SDG 4: Quality Education.
