Report on awareness workshop on empowering families with bleeding disorders

An awareness workshop on empowering families with bleeding disorders was held on 12th December 2025, organized by the Hemophilia Society Manipal Chapter (HSMC) in collaboration with the Department of Fundamentals of Nursing and Child Health Nursing, Manipal College of Nursing (MCON), MAHE, Manipal.
The program was supported by Novo Nordisk India. The session began with a talk on the developmental needs of children and adolescents with hemophilia by Ms. Shreya Shetty, Assistant Lecturer. An interactive session titled “Navigating Life with Strength and Support” was conducted by Ms. Kusumavathi, Lecturer at MCON Manipal, which focused on coping strategies and family support. A total of 25 members participated in the workshop.
The program was coordinated by Dr. Sulochana, President of HSMC, and Dr. Anjalin Dsouza, Assistant Professor at MCON. This event signifies the importance of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3: Good Health and Well-being, as it aimed to promote health education and empower families managing haemophilia. Participants shared positive feedback, stating that the program was effective and informative.
