Report on Guest Lecture

A guest lecture was arranged by the Department of Psychiatric (Mental Health) Nursing, Manipal College of Nursing, MAHE Manipal, as part of “Deeksharambha” (orientation program for the fresher students of the B.Sc. Nursing Program) at MCON Manipal on August 4, 2023, between 11.30 am and 12.30 pm. The resource person was Mrs. Shilpa Joshi, Student Counselor, Department of Student Affairs, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal. Mrs. Shilpa deliberated a session on the topic “Guidance & Mentoring”. She discussed the challenges faced by the students in their college life and future challenges. She focused on how to analyze a difficult situation by using SWOT. Furthermore, she focused on how a guide and mentor play a critical role in finding the solutions to students’ problems. A total of 132 participants (students from 1st-semester BSc) attended the session. The guest lecture contributed towards sustainable development goal 4 (Quality Education).
