Alumni Engagement Guest Lecture Series – 21/2022

Department of Child Health Nursing, Manipal College of Nursing, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal organized an Alumni Guest Lecture on “Lifestyle Management for Adolescents” on December 14, 2022, between 02.00 PM & 03.00 PM for III Year BSc Nursing students through Microsoft Team Platform. Ms. Aditi Gurung, Faculty at the Institute of Nutrition and Fitness Science (INFS), Fitness Coach at Muscle Layman, Mumbai, Maharashtra, and alumna (MSc Graduate 2012-2014 batch) of MCON, Manipal was the speaker for the session. She discussed the various aspects of lifestyle management among adolescents with a focus on physical activity, exercise, sleep, and screen time. She quoted relevant examples and incorporated evidence-based research findings during her talk. Ms. Aditi also shared her life experiences which motivated her to transform to be a full-fledged fitness coach apart from being a nurse. Her vision to bring changes in the lifestyle of young adolescents and thereby improve their overall well-being is well appreciable. The session was informative and interesting as it dealt with the various changes and modifications needed in our day-to-day life.

A total of 100 participants including 94 students of III BSc (N) and six faculty members attended the guest lecture.
