Mrs. Yashodha A, Nursing Superintendent, Kasturba Hospital was the chief guest and Dr. Kasturi R Adiga, Principal Manipal School of Nursing was the guest of honour for the programme. Mrs. Yashodha congratulated the students and enlightened the audience on the importance and significance of the lamp lighting as nurses. She also emphasized that their journey as bedside nurses caring for the sick and well with both love and compassion.  

All 98 students were introduced into the profession by the chief guest, guest of honour, Dr Anice George, Dean MCON and Dr. Judith Noronha, Associate Dean, MCON. Dr. Anice George rendered the nurses oath. In her message she advised the students to be truthful to themselves which will help them to incorporate these values in the care they provide. She also encouraged the students to realize that the training provided to them is to make them excellent bedside nurses.
