Hands-on workshop on First Aid Care Package (FACP)
Manipal College of Nursing (MCON) in association with ICMR conducted a hands-on workshop on First Aid Care Package (FACP) for the auto-rickshaw drivers of the Udupi district at the simulation centre, Health Science Library, MAHE, Manipal on 27-07-2022.
Sessions on the assessment of RTA victims, CPR, care of fracture and bandaging, care for spinal injury, shifting of patients and legal protection of first responders were covered.
Mr Vinish V, Assistant Professor, MCON; Mr Sooraj K, Sr.Research Fellow, MCON; Dr Jyothi Chakrabarty, Professor, MCON; Dr Melita Sheilini, Assistant Professor - Selection Grade, MCON and Mr Nagesh Nayak, Assistant Police Sub-Inspector, Manipal took the sessions on the above topics.
A total of 23 auto-rickshaw drivers participated in the programme. The workshop helped to create a pool of first aid providers from the community, who can save the life of injured due to road traffic accidents. The programme was well appreciated by the District RTO officer and by the Circle Inspector of Police, Manipal Circle.
