Guest lecture on “Appreciative Inquiry: A qualitative research method.”
January 25, 2024
Dr. Toni Bewley, a senior teaching fellow at Edgehill University, UK, and an adjunct faculty of Manipal College of Nursing, addressed the PhD scholars on a qualitative research method, Appreciative Inquiry (AI), on January 15, 2024, at 10:30 AM.
She said the different methods are emerging data collection techniques and appreciative inquiry, though they started in the 1990s and have little visibility. She interacted with the PhD scholars and told them how we could interact with the participants and bring out the positivity in the data we collected. We can also get the negative aspects required for the research during the process. The session was made more interactive by a group activity wherein the four steps of the appreciative inquiry cycle were iterated. A total of 15 scholars attended the session.
