An Awareness Program On Weaning
The health education committee of SNA 2019-20, Manipal College of Nursing, MAHE, Manipal organized an awareness program on weaning on 29th February 2020 between 4.15 pm to 5 pm at WH-5 ward, Kasturba Hospital, Manipal.
The program began by welcoming the audience. Health education on weaning was given by Ms. Benita Dcunha & Ms.Riya Nisha Mendonca, the committee chairperson and the member with the help of PowerPoint presentation. The session included the meaning, importance, guidelines, and the type of weaning food to be given at various levels for up to one year. The importance of exclusive breastfeeding also emphasized during the session.
A total of 15 mothers benefitted from the program. All the committee members were present during the program. The program came to an end by a vote of thanks by Ms. Benita Dcunha, the committee chairperson. The program was supervised by Mrs. Manjula, Asst. Professor and Mrs. Reshma R Kotian, Lecturer, the committee faculty advisors.
