MCODS Manipal Marks College Day with Awards, Recognition, and Diamond Jubilee Announcement

Manipal, September 29, 2025: Manipal College of Dental Sciences (MCODS), Manipal, a constituent unit of Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), an Institution of Eminence Deemed to be University, celebrated its College Day and Awards Ceremony 2025 at the Dr TMA Pai Auditorium. The event highlighted the academic achievements, research contributions, and student excellence of the institution.
The programme was organised under the leadership of Dr Gopalakrishnan Dharmarajan, Dean, MCODS, Manipal, along with Dr Shashi Rashmi Acharya and Dr Srikanth G, Associate Deans. Faculty, staff, students, alumni, and dignitaries from both the Manipal and Mangalore campuses attended the event.
Delivering the keynote address, Dr Sharath K Rao, Pro Vice Chancellor, Health Sciences, MAHE, encouraged the graduates to reflect on their journey and embrace innovation, technology, and patient-centred care in advancing dental sciences. He said, “Excellence in healthcare stems from both academic brilliance and a deep sense of service to society. MCODS continues to be a beacon of dental education and research, preparing professionals who can make a global impact.”
Highlighting the academic progress in the college report, Dr Gopalakrishnan Dharmarajan, Dean, MCODS, Manipal, announced that MCODS is celebrating its Diamond Jubilee (60 years) as Altiara with special events planned from January 2nd to 4th, 2026. He also apprised the gathering about some of the innovative student initiatives and community outreach activities in the previous year.
The award ceremony was a key highlight of the evening.
Dr Aditi Chopra received the Dr TMA Pai Gold Medal for Outstanding Research.
Dr Chaarvi Bansal was honoured with the Dr Sunder J. Vazirani Memorial Gold Medal for the Best Outgoing Student 2024–25.
Reports from the Student Council, presented by Dr Nihal Shetty, and the Student Research Forum, presented by Dr Chaarvi Bansal, were also presented. Many other awards were given to recognise the contributions of students and faculty.
The graduates were formally presented, took the professional oath, and shared heartfelt reflections of their journey at MCODS. The event concluded with gratitude towards mentors, faculty, and the institution, marking a memorable evening of pride and celebration.
