MCBR Manipal Inaugurates Workshop on FPLC and Bio-LC Techniques

Manipal, July 26, 2024: The Manipal Centre for Biopharmaceutical Research (MCBR) at MAHE inaugurated the 'FPLC & Bio-LC Workshop' today at the MCBR Lecture Hall. The workshop, scheduled from July 24 to July 27, 2024, focuses on imparting comprehensive knowledge and practical training in Protein Liquid Chromatography (FPLC) and Bio-Liquid Chromatography (Bio-LC) techniques. These techniques are integral to biotechnology and life sciences research.
The Chief Guest of the inauguration ceremony, Dr. Sharath K Rao, Pro Vice-Chancellor of Health Sciences at MAHE, emphasised the importance of continuous learning and skill development in maintaining technological proficiency in the health sciences and related sectors. He encouraged participants to utilise the workshop to enhance their expertise and contribute effectively to their fields.
Dr. Vadiraja Bhat, Country Biopharma Business Development Manager and Scientist at Agilent Technologies, Bengaluru, served as the Guest of Honor. He highlighted the pivotal role of chromatography techniques in biopharmaceutical business development and scientific research.
Dr. Raviraja N.S., Chairperson of the Organizing Committee and Professor & founding Coordinator of MCBR, welcomed the attendees and underscored MCBR's commitment to skill development through organising workshops in diverse areas of biotherapeutics.
Dr. Souvik Dey, Organizing Secretary and Assistant Professor at MCBR, provided an overview of the workshop, outlining its objectives and emphasising the significance of FPLC and Bio-LC techniques in modern research and biopharmaceutical applications.
The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Amarnath Chatterjee, Head of Biopharma Technical Operations and Analytical Development Biologics at Syngene International Ltd, who discussed the latest advancements and applications in biopharmaceuticals.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Abhayraj Joshi, Assistant Professor at MCBR, while Mr. Anirudh Srinivas, a Dr. TMA Pai PhD Scholar, anchored the program.
