Dr. Wim Van en Bergh

Wim Van den Bergh holds the position of Professor of Construction at the University of Antwerp. Within the university, he leads the Road Engineering Research Section and holds the chair position in the infrastructure section of the Civil Engineering department. His specialized areas of expertise encompass the development of an integrated model for asphalt deformation, the assessment of climate change's impact on road structures, sustainable recycling methods, the application of IT in road construction to enhance quality and sustainability, and pioneering innovations like specialized mixtures tailored for heavy loads at ports and airports. Additionally, he teaches courses in Road Engineering and Asphalt Technology and maintains an active international presence through participation in committees, Erasmus programs, and networking initiatives.
