The NSS Road Safety Event held on January 18, 2025, was a significant step toward raising awareness about the importance of safe driving and responsible road usage. The event began at 5 PM at the Student Plaza with an inspiring speech by Assistant Sub-Inspector Sri Manohara A K from the Manipal Police Station, setting a motivating tone for the activities.
The rally commenced from MIT gate two and proceeded to Tiger Circle, with participants carrying banners and engaging passersby in meaningful discussions about government policies and personal experiences related to road safety. Also student teams interacted with auto drivers, families, and children near Cannera Mall, discussing safe practices and emphasizing the importance of adhering to traffic rules. A public announcement at the mall highlighted accident statistics and urged the community to prioritize safety.
The final engagement at Tiger Circle involved public announcements and conversations with individuals at the bus stand, auto stand, and petrol pump, where participants shared their experiences and learned about new regulations. The event concluded back on campus with reflections on the valuable insights gained, reinforcing the need for collective efforts in promoting road safety.
