Engineers’ Day 2026 and Prof. P. V. Bhandary Memorial Oration

Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), Manipal, commemorated Engineers’ Day 2026 and the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Sir M. Visvesvaraya by hosting the Prof. P. V. Bhandary Memorial Oration, honouring the legacy of former Principal and Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. P. V. Bhandary.

The programme commenced with an invocation by Dr. Vidya S. Rao, followed by a welcome address by Dr. Chandrakala C. B. Former Directors Dr. Raghuvir Pai and Brig. Dr. B. S. Pabla shared remembrances highlighting Prof. Bhandary’s dedicated service and MIT’s growth.

Chief Guest Dr. P. G. Diwakar, former Scientific Secretary, ISRO, spoke on India’s advancements in space technology, including Chandrayaan-3 and Gaganyaan. Guest of Honour Dr. P. K. Vijayan, former Distinguished Scientist, BARC, addressed indigenous Small and Micro Modular Reactors, emphasizing clean energy, thorium utilization, industrial decarbonization, and India’s Net-Zero 2070 goals.
