MIT Manipal Student Represents Institute at HPAIR Conference 2026 at Harvard University

April 15, 2026

MIT Manipal congratulates Shashank Maddela, a 6th semester B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering (Honours) student from the School of Electrical Engineering, for representing the institute at the Harvard Project for Asian and International Relations (HPAIR) Conference – HCONF 2026, held recently at Harvard University, Boston.

The conference featured a wide range of speaker sessions, keynote talks, executive masterclasses, fireside conversations, and conclaves covering diverse global themes. These sessions brought together academic leaders, policymakers, and industry professionals who shared their insights on global systems, research, and technological and social development.

Participation in the HPAIR conference, along with academic visits to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard University, provided Shashank with valuable academic exposure and insights beyond the classroom environment. Interactions with speakers, participation in discussions, and exposure to active research environments helped him understand how technical disciplines operate within broader global, institutional, and research contexts.

Shashank, who is also pursuing specializations in Avionics Systems Engineering and Antenna Design for Aviation Applications, previously served as Joint Secretary of the MIT Student Council (2024–2025). He also holds DELF B1 certification in French and JLPT N5 certification in Japanese.

MIT Manipal congratulates him on this achievement and wishes him continued success in his academic journey.
