The Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), commemorated Engineers’ Day 2025 with a special event that also honoured the legacy of Late Professor P. V. Bhandary. Held at the M. V. Seminar Hall, the program began with a floral tribute to the visionary founder, Dr. TMA Pai, and featured dignitaries from academia and industry. Dr. Chandrakala C. B., Joint Director, MIT, Manipal delivered the welcome address, emphasizing the values of innovation, service, and professional ethics.

A heartfelt tribute to Professor Bhandary was presented by Dr. Raghuvir Pai, highlighting his leadership, integrity, and contributions to MIT’s growth. The keynote oration was delivered by Dr. S. Unnikrishnan Nair, former Director of Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre and Founding Director of the Human Space Flight Centre. He spoke on India’s space journey, ISRO’s achievements, and the future of human spaceflight, encouraging students to pursue innovation and entrepreneurship.

Dr. V. S. Venkatesan, international faculty in Biomedical Engineering, delivered a compelling oration on the integration of engineering and life sciences, sharing insights from his five-decade career. Director Cdr (Dr.) Anil Rana reflected on MIT’s evolution and the role of engineers in addressing global challenges. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. B. Raghavendra K. Holla, Associate Director (FDW), MIT, Manipal acknowledging the contributions of guests, organizers, and attendees, and reinforcing the spirit of engineering excellence and humanistic values.
