Revels ’26 Inaugurated with Grandeur at MIT Manipal

Revels ’26, the annual cultural fest of the Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), Manipal, was inaugurated with great enthusiasm on February 24, 2026, at the MIT Quadrangle, Academic Block 1. The event was organized by the Office of the Associate Director (Student Welfare) and the Student Council, MIT Manipal.

The ceremony began with a vibrant cultural parade, followed by the traditional lighting of the lamp. The Chief Guest, Sri Prithvi Krishna, Carnatic Mridangam artist and an A-Grade artist of All India Radio (AIR)., delivered a heartfelt address that deeply resonated with the audience. Turning emotional on stage, he fondly recalled his days at MIT and expressed immense pride in returning as the Chief Guest. He credited the institution’s quality education for shaping his journey and remarked, “Being a Mridangam artist was not my choice but destiny. I embraced the opportunities that came my way.” Encouraging students to nurture their passions, he added, “Keep your hobbies alive and work on them—you can achieve success there too.” His inspiring words set an uplifting tone for the fest, and he later captivated the gathering with a special performance.

Lt. Gen. (Dr.) M. D. Venkatesh, Vice Chancellor of the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), graced the occasion as Guest of Honour. The event was presided over by Cdr. (Dr.) Anil Rana, Director, MIT Manipal.
