The MIT MAHE NSS Unit, in collaboration with MIT Manipal, hosted a series of events on January 12, 2025, to commemorate National Youth Day at the MIT AB 2 MV Seminar Hall.
This celebration honored the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, a pioneer of youth empowerment, self-reliance, and nation-building. The event began with the Inspiring Youth Oration, inaugurated by Dr. Raviraja N. Seetharam, COO of MAHE, who highlighted Swami Vivekananda’s influential speech at the 1893 Parliament of Religions. Dr. Raviraja encouraged students and volunteers to embody Vivekananda’s principles of integrity, compassion, and dedication, emphasizing their relevance in building a united and stronger India.
Dr. Commander Anil Rana, Director of MIT, addressed the audience on the importance of leadership skills, inspiring students and volunteers to take on responsibilities with confidence and vision. Adding a personal touch, Dr. Somashekara Bhat, Joint Director of MIT, shared insights from his journey of perseverance and hard work in academia, illustrating how these attributes have been pivotal in his success as a leader. The event served as a platform to inspire the youth to draw from Vivekananda’s timeless teachings and contribute meaningfully to society.
