Precision without complexity- Instrument free adaptive dentistry

The Departments of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics, Paediatric & Preventive Dentistry, and Dental Materials at MCODS Manipal successfully organized a Continuing Dental Education (CDE) program titled “Precision Without Complexity: IFAD (Instrument Free Adaptive Dentistry)” on 16th February 2026 at 5A, MMMC Building, as         an Institutional IQAC initiative IFAD - CDE. The program, conducted in association with Wizdent and Kuraray, featured Dr. Preethi Nagarajan as the resource faculty, who delivered an insightful session highlighting the principles of Instrument Free Adaptive Dentistry with emphasis on achieving optimal restorative precision while simplifying clinical procedures. The event was graced by Dr. Shashi Rashmi Acharya and Dr. Srikanth G, Associate Deans; Dr. Tina P P, Professor & Head, Department of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics; Dr. Kishore Ginjupalli, Professor & Head, Department of Dental Materials; and Dr. Saurabh Kumar, Professor & Head, Department of Paediatric & Preventive Dentistry, underscoring the academic significance of the initiative.

The program commenced with a lecture session from followed by a hands-on workshop at the Simulation Lab, 6th floor. The program was open to all faculty members, postgraduate students, interns, and undergraduates, and witnessed enthusiastic participation from attendees across departments. The practical component focused on demonstration and hands-on practice of IFAD principles on extracted teeth, emphasizing optimal adaptation, anatomical form, and composite handling under the IFAD protocol, thereby providing participants with a valuable opportunity to integrate contemporary restorative concepts into clinical practice.
