Trios intra oral scanner and its application in orthodontics

The Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics conducted a Guest lecture on “Trios intra oral scanner and its application in orthodontics” on 23 Sept 2025.

The resource person, Dr Yuri Desouza, Territory Manager for Karnataka, Telangana, Andra Pradesh and Goa at 3Shape India,  elaborated the importance of digital dentistry and role of intra oral scanners in digital records in the field of dentistry. The features of Trios 4 and Trios 5 and Trios 6 were explained with clinical case examples for smile design, patient management and clear aligner studio application using 3Shape software.

The lecture was followed by demonstration of chair side scanning of study models using Trios 3 intra oral scanner and Trios 4 intra oral scanner and a hand-on session where the participants  scanned study models and intra oral conditions.

The lecture session (9:30 am -11:30 am) was presided by Dean Dr Gopalakrishnan Dharmarajan and Dr Srikanth G.

It was attended by 41 participants.
