Scientific Presentation Awards at IESCON Goa 2025

The Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, MCODS Manipal, is proud to announce the remarkable achievements of its faculty and postgraduate students at the 33rd National Conference of the Indian Endodontic Society (IESCON Goa 2025). The department secured multiple top honours, reflecting its commitment to clinical excellence, research innovation, and academic leadership.

Among the faculty, Dr. N. Vasudev Ballal, Professor, was awarded First Prize for his scientific paper on a randomized controlled trial investigating the additive effect between calcium hydroxide and sodium hypochlorite in root canal dressing. Dr. Tina P. P., Professor and Head, secured First Prize for her paper titled “Effect of Chelating Agents on Compressive and Push-Out Bond Strength of Calcium Silicate-Based Materials in Furcal Perforations.” Dr. Sandya Kini, Professor, was awarded First Prize for her scientific poster on “A Comparative In Vitro Study Evaluating Various Storage Media on Periodontal Ligament Fibroblast Viability.”

The department’s postgraduate students also demonstrated outstanding academic performance. Dr. Rajathashree Yuvaraj (PG III) secured First Place in the Paper Presentation category for her work “The Bioceramic Bridge: Linking Non-Surgical Obturation with Surgical Repair,” under the guidance of Dr. Shashi Rashmi Acharya and Dr. Arun Mayya. Dr. Saajid Sahib Singh (PG III) was awarded Second Place for his paper “The Periapical Resolution: Surgical and Non-Surgical Endodontics,” mentored by Dr. Vidya Saraswathi M, and was also selected to participate in the pre-conference workshop “Magnification Masterclass.” Dr. Gagana (PG III) secured Second Place for her presentation “Turning Setback into Success: Retreatment and Cyst Enucleation in a Failed Apicoectomy Case,” under the guidance of Dr. Sandya Kini.

These accomplishments highlight the department’s strong academic environment and mentorship, fostering excellence in research and clinical practice. The Department congratulates all awardees and their mentors for their exemplary achievements and contributions to the field of endodontics.
