Oral Hygiene Day

The Department of Periodontology celebrated Oral Hygiene Day on 1^st August 2025 with a lineup of impactful activities. The event was organized under the leadership of Dr. Santhosh Kumar, Professor and Head, Department of Periodontology and was graced by the presence of Dean, Dr. Gopalakrishnan Dharmarajan and Dr. Shashi Rashmi Acharya, Associate Dean, MCODS Manipal.

Team Malang energized the campus with a thought-provoking street play promoting oral hygiene awareness. An interactive session titled "Essential Tips for Preventive Oral Care in General Practice" was delivered by Dr. Biju Thomas, Professor at ABSMIDS, Mangalore, enriching the minds of undergraduate an d postgraduate students. A Dental awareness program in various departments of KMC, Manipal OPD, was conducted by Dr. Namratha, Dr. Shashikiran, and Dr. Srilaxmi to educate the general public on oral health and its links to systemic health and oral hygiene practice was demonstrated on 28^th, 29^th & 30^th July 2025. Free dental screening and scaling services were offered to all patients visiting the department on 31^st July 2025.
