Academic Enrichment Program- From Microscopic Insight to Surgical Precision.

The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and Oral Microbiology organized an Academic Enrichment Program for undergraduate students on the topic “From Microscopic Insights to Surgical Precision – An Integrated Journey” as part of Oral Pathologists Day celebration. The session commenced with inspiring opening remarks by the Dean, Dr.Gopalakrishna Dharmarajan, who emphasized the importance of integrating basic sciences with clinical practice. The occasion also served as a moment to recollect and acknowledge the valuable contributions of Dr. H. M. Dholakia to the field of Oral Pathology. The resource person of the day Dr Anupam Singh, Reader, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, MCODS, Manipal delivered an insightful presentation highlighting the critical link between microscopic diagnosis and precise surgical management. Through relevant clinical examples, the speaker emphasized the importance of clinicopathological correlation and collaborative practice in ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
Debate Competition
The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and Oral Microbiology organized a debate competition on the theme “Oral Pathology: Is There Uncertainty Within Certainty?” The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from students ranging from III BDS to Interns and proved to be truly enriching, owing to the diverse range of topics selected by the students. The variety of perspectives brought richness to the discussion, making the session dynamic and thought-provoking for everyone present, and the program successfully fostered critical thinking. The event truly reflected the spirit of National Oral Pathologists’ Day by celebrating scientific knowledge and meaningful discussion in Oral Pathology. It was truly a great learning experience, not only for the participants but also for the audience and faculty.
