CDE Program on sleep apnoea and its management

The Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics conducted a Guest lecture on “Sleep apnoea and its management” by Dr Leena Alexander on 6 Jan 2026 from 9:30 am-12 pm.

Dr Alexander, an Adjunct faculty in the Department, currently works as the clinical director of DFW deep sleep and is qualified with the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine.

The lecture session discussed the basics of sleep biology and diagnosis of sleep apnoea. This was followed by a session highlighting the role of a dentist in managing sleep apnoea as well as appliances used for its management.

The inauguration was presided by our Dean Dr Gopalakrishnan and was attended by 56 participants.
