A two day workshop was conducted at Auditorium, KEF RD Centre, M.I.T., on 24th and 25th March 2023. Mr. Sudip Mazumder, Head – Digital Marketing Services and Special Infra Projects, Larsen & Toubro Ltd, Mumbai was the resource person.
In the afternoon session of 24th March 2023, the talk was arranged at Auditorium, KEF R&D Centre at 2.30pm. Dr Purushotham G Sarvade, Head of Department, Department of Civil Engineering, gave the opening remarks and welcomed the resource person for the talk.
Dr Sudip Mazumder gave a talk regarding asset management using IoT applications in Civil Engg and what is the requirement of Industry 4.0 in Civil Engg. It was an informative talk by the resource person who enlightened the faculty regarding the recent sophisticated technology used in the industry and how we could incorporate the same while teaching. All the teaching staff attended the informative talk.
On 25th March 2023, the talk was held at Auditorium, KEF R&D Center, from 10.30pm, and it was attended by Research Scholars, VI semester UG students & PG students. The resource person delivered a talk on “Asset management of bridges using IoT”, which was informative, giving the students an overview of about IoT applications in Industry 4.0 in Civil Engg.
In the afternoon session, a discussion with faculty of the department was held regarding inclusion of Industry 4.0 aspects in UG curriculum and making civil engineering course, a digitally empowered course, by introducing the topics on mechanisation, robotics and IoT, in the curriculum, and subjects to be taught by industry experts. Also, a discussion on revision of PG curriculum of Construction Technology and Management course was held.
The resource person was thanked by Dr Purushotham G Sarvade, HoD, Dept of Civil Engg, for sparing his precious time and giving us an insight into Industry 4.0 in Civil Engg.
