'Namami Gange program' at MIT Campus

Smt. Salumarada Thimmakka, the inspiring "Vrakshmatha" and Padmashree awardee, inaugurated the Swarna river watershed afforestation drive under the 'Namami Gange program' at MIT Campus on Saturday. Her humility and down-to-earth nature are truly inspiring!
Smt. Thimmakka praised MAHE for its efforts in creating a green Manipal and urged it to continue such initiatives. Namami Gange focuses on public awareness and planting 10,000 saplings in the Swarna River basin. Mr. Umesh, Smt. Thimmakka's son expressed joy over MIT, MAHE's involvement in Namami Gange. He emphasized planting native fruit-bearing trees, providing shelter and food to birds and animals.
