Oxygen ’25: Freshers Step In, Stand Out

The Manipal Institute of Communication hosted its annual freshers’ cultural event Oxygen ’25 at the MIC Auditorium on August 23, at 2:30 pm. The event, organized by the Cultural Coordination Committee, opened with an address by Director Dr. Shubha H.S. and Faculty Coordinators Mr. C. Manikandan and Ms. Kavita Nagasampige.
Freshers showcased their talents through Bollywood songs, a rock band performance, dancing, singing, and a fashion ramp walk. All of which showed creativity and confidence among the newcomers. Short films made by freshers were also screened— The Devil’s Apple and Voicemail.
The spotlight was MIC’s cultural clubs. Meraki (dance club), Unplugged (music club), and Fanatics (fashion club) delivered power-packed performances and introduced themselves to the freshers, with Fanatics presenting a striking “Wild West” themed fashion walk.
In addition, freshers were introduced to the Neem Club, Yell Club, Kalamanch, Film Club and VSO, which shared their goals and urged the newcomers to join.
By the end of the evening, Oxygen ’25 had successfully welcomed the new batch with a showcase of talent, and creativity, giving students a glimpse into the vibrant campus life at MIC.
