EU delegation visit

The Pre-clinical OCULUS lab at Department of Optometry, SOAHS was visited by His Excellency Mr. Tomasz Koslowski, the ambassador from EU to India & Bhutan along with few members from EU delegation. The objectives of ERASMUS plus CBHE funded project “Optometry Curricullum for Lifelong learning through Erasmus (OCULUS)” in the training competent Optometrist was explained by Dr. Ramesh S Ve Head of the department and OCULUS consortium member. A brief introduction of state of the art facility (instrument those supported by OCULUS grant), mentoring process for the students, hands on activities prior to clinical posting, maintenance of the clinical log books and concept of evidence based practice module in patient care embedded into the teaching was also addressed and much appreciated by the EU delegation. Along with faculty colleagues, research scholars, students of Department of Optometry other members present were EU India representatives, Dr. B Rajashekar, Dean of SOAHS, Prof Udupa N, Director for Research- Health Science, MAHE, Dr. Preethi Pradhan Dean of Chitkara University, Prof Helmut Brand, Director- Prasanna School of Public Health, MAHE, Dr. Neeta Inamdar, Prof and Head, Department of European were present during this visit.
