Manipal Institute of Technology is one of the top 5 private colleges in India and has reached the pinnacle of excellence. The latest feather in its cap is the appointment of an ex-MITian Satya Nadella as the CEO of Microsoft. My experience of Manipal Institute has been positive from the beginning. After I took the entrance test, I felt the pattern of the test was quite unique when compared to other entrance tests. Having scored a good rank in the entrance, I was in a dilemma whether to choose MIT or opt for a different college, so I stayed in Manipal for a week. I got to know a lot about the way the university functions and I must admit, I loved the systematic way of academics here. I decided it would be a new experience for me to stay away from home and in a hostel. It would let me be a more independent person. That one week was what made me stay in MIT today to complete the remaining 4 years. The first few days I got to know about the clubs here and the way the college functions. Moreover, the events and fests held here are exciting. I have always loved nature and this place is like paradise with a lot of greenery; every day I walk to the classes, making sure I get proper exercise. The unpolluted pure air gives you great pleasure to get out of the hostel. Initially I was very skeptical about the food but the levels of hygiene here are astonishingly good! Beautiful landscapes, unpolluted air, inviting greenery and a nice academic schedule all this sums up MIT. I tell myself, I'm at the right place. Eight months have passed and I still feel the same joy I felt on the very first day.
