Manipal Health Literacy Unit
Overview
The scope of MHLU is to conduct practice and policy-focused multidisciplinary research
and development activities, collaborating extensively with national and international institutes to generate robust evidence in health literacy. MHLU aspires to be a hub for research excellence, policy advocacy, and interdisciplinary collaboration, contributing meaningfully to the advancement of health literacy on a global scale. The unit aims to continuously learn, adapt, and engage with communities, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence in health literacy studies.
Mission of the Centre: To be the most preferred unit for health literacy studies in India.
Objectives
- To carry out practice and policy-focused multi-disciplinary research and development activities in health literacy.
- To collaborate with national and international institutes to generate evidence on health literacy.
Consultancy Services
The Centre offers consultancy services for health literacy projects, including:
- Designing and conducting surveys
Developing interventions for developing general and or specific health literacy
Manuscript preparation
General consultancy for health literacy-based events planning and execution
