Manipal Law School in association with Foundation for Data Protection Professionals in India (FDPPI) organized Roundtable discussion with renowned experts, on the growing risk of cybercrimes and reigning the cybercrime hubs. To focus attention on the risk of these "Dark Villages" supplementing the "DarkWeb" and to awaken the regulatory framework the event was titled as “Jago Regulators Jago”. The regulators in this scenario are police, the adjudicators under ITA 2000, the MeitY, MHA and the CERT IN. The event aimed at elevating the awareness of these regulators so as to curb the cybercrime risks.
The event witnessed participation from diverse sectors and the proceedings were a melting pot of ideas where issue and challenges associated with cybercrimes were discussed from social, economic, legal and psychological standpoint. Mr. Na Vijayshankar moderated the roundtable discussions and Prof. Avinash Dadhich took the guests through the vision behind the industry-academia collaboration and bridging the gap between law in theory and law in practice. The eminent dignitaries included Dr Triveni Singh, IPS , Cybercrime Lucknow, Mr Balu Swaminathan, President of Cyber Society of India, Chennai, Dr.Mahendra Limaye, President, District Consumer Commission, Bhandara, Maharashtra, Dr. Ananth Prabhu, Cyber Security Expert, Dr Anil Rachamalla, Digital Well Being Expert, Founder End Now Foundation, K. Sai Teja, Advocate, Supreme Court, and Dr. Divya Devulapally, Psychiatrist.
