The MLS workshop “Becoming AI Saavy Lawyer” was successfully conducted from April 21–24, 2026 at Manipal Law School, MAHE Bengaluru. Organised by the MLS Centre of AI and Data Privacy Laws, the one-credit course explored the evolving relationship between artificial intelligence and legal practice. Sessions covered key themes such as introduction to AI, hands-on prompting, contracts with and without AI, the legal basis for AI use, NLP and LLMs in contracts, and emerging laws and governance frameworks. The workshop featured expert sessions by Ms. Somya Agarwal, Mr. Rasesh Shah, Ms. Kavita Ganatra, and Mr. Prosenjit Mondal, who shared practical insights from legal, corporate, and AI literacy perspectives. The interactive sessions encouraged students to think critically about how AI is reshaping law, legal services, and professional responsibility. The programme equipped participants with foundational knowledge and practical tools to navigate the future of law in an AI-driven world.
