Based on an analysis of job descriptions and interviews with professionals across sectors, the report highlights that employers increasingly value skills commonly developed through social science education, including critical thinking, communication, research, adaptability, curiosity, ethical judgement, and the ability to understand people and society. The study also underscores the importance of practical experience, portfolios, networking, digital skills, and responsible engagement with AI in shaping career trajectories.
The report was researched, written, and designed by undergraduate students of the Department of Social Sciences under faculty supervision, reflecting the department’s commitment to inquiry-based learning and student-led knowledge production.
