Exploring the World of Archiving – A Deep Dive by DLHS BA History Students! 📚🗂️

On the 21st and 22nd of February 2025, our BA History students embarked on a fascinating journey into the world of archiving. The event kicked off with an insightful workshop by Ammel Sharon from NLSIU, where students learned about the importance of cataloging, the key concerns an archivist faces, and even got their hands dirty making hand-made paper! 📄✨

The second part of the experience was a trip to the NCBS' new archival collection launch, followed by a tour of their archives. As one student aptly put it, we experienced both the 'fragility of the past' and how it endures through archives, offering us a glimpse into the meticulous work that preserves history. 🏛️💡

We are proud of our students for actively engaging in this emerging field and broadening their understanding of how history is preserved for future generations. 🙌🎓
