Centres at MILHS
The Manipal Institute of Liberal Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences has established two centres aimed at fostering research and encouraging more public-facing engagement. The purpose of both the centres is to build strategic alliances with other academic institutions, cultural organisations, libraries, museums, and industry partners to leverage resources, share expertise, and promote interdisciplinary collaboration.
The Centre for Gender Education and Research promotes research, education, and capacity-building to advance gender equality and inclusive practices. It conducts gender sensitisation programmes, POSH training, certificate courses, and diversity and inclusion initiatives with academic and industry partners. The Centre is aligned with SDGs 5, 10, and 16 to foster gender justice and social inclusion.
Digital Humanities integrates technology with the humanities to advance digital research, teaching, and innovation. It promotes digital literacy, cultural heritage preservation, and community engagement through collaborative and accessible initiatives. The Centre also supports cutting-edge research through partnerships and the Mahattara Research Project grant.
