Amrutha Yathish

Assistant Professor

Amrutha Yathish is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Liberal Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (DLHS), MAHE Bengaluru, where she teaches within the Social Sciences programme. In addition to courses on Research Skills, Cross-Cultural Communication, and Academic Writing, she teaches French and coordinates foreign language programmes. Her ongoing doctoral research focuses on international cultural relations, specifically, India-Europe public and cultural diplomacy. She holds an MA in European Studies from the Manipal Centre for European Studies (MCES), MAHE, and, as an Erasmus+ scholar, completed a year of her dual-degree master's programme at the University of Latvia, Riga. Her academic interests lie at the intersection of culture in foreign policy, foreign language pedagogy, and intercultural communication. Trained in French (C2 level) and French language pedagogy through Alliance Française and Institut Français en Inde, she is actively engaged in pedagogical innovation in language teaching and learning. Prior to her current role, she taught courses in the Foreign Languages and Intercultural Studies undergraduate program for over five years at the Department of Languages, MAHE. She also has experience with EU-funded Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) projects, having worked as a Research Associate for the CLIL@India project, which focused on addressing multilingual realities in Indian school education through the implementation of the Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) approach. Committed to a multidisciplinary approach, she brings together perspectives from the social sciences, language studies, and international cultural relations to advance globally aware and culturally responsive teaching, research, and academic engagement.
