Ms Jeffy Johnson

Assistant Professor of Law

Jeffy Johnson’s research and teaching examine the intersection of corporate governance, sustainability, environmental law, and emerging technologies, with particular emphasis on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) frameworks, corporate social responsibility, and sustainable business regulation. She has submitted her Ph.D. thesis at CMR University, titled "Legal Framework for Promoting Corporate Governance with Special Reference to the Information Technology Sector in Bangalore," which critically examines regulatory approaches to strengthening corporate governance in India's technology sector. She holds an LL.M. in Corporate and Commercial Law and a B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) from CHRIST (Deemed to be University) Bangalore, together with a Postgraduate Diploma in Environmental Law from the National Law School of India University (NLSIU). Prior to joining Manipal Law School, she served as the Academic Coordinator and Founding Faculty at Bengaluru School of Law and Justice and previously taught at CHRIST (Deemed to be University) Delhi Campus and Christ Academy Institute of Law. An ESG enthusiast with advanced professional training, she has completed the Duke University ESG Specialization, comprising certifications in ESG Strategy, Value Creation, Business Transformation, Communication, and Sustainable Business, Product Foot printing, Resource Efficiency (United Nations ESCAP), Responsible AI in Legal Services (Duke Center on Law & Tech) and others. Her scholarship has appeared in Scopus-indexed publications with leading publishers including Springer, Wiley, and Bentham Science, and she regularly presents at national & international conferences on ESG, climate governance, and corporate regulation.
