School of Mechanical Engineering

MIT , Manipal
Technology and Science

Our School of Mechanical Engineering (SME), MIT Manipal brings together three long-standing academic domains—Mechanical & Industrial Engineering (established in 1960), Mechatronics (2006), and Aeronautical & Automobile Engineering (2008). We combine decades of engineering education with advanced learning in mechanical systems, robotics, automation, aerospace, mobility, advanced manufacturing, materials, energy, and Industry 4.0. We also emphasise on two unique certification courses, MIT – CIPLA Work Integrated Learning Program enables CIPLA employees to pursue “Diploma in Mechanical Engineering” through MAHE Manipal and MIT-Intel Unnati Certification Program which aimed at fostering technology inclusion and enhancing students' skills in emerging technologies. With a focus on advancing students’ capabilities in data-centric skills, the program aligns perfectly with our commitment to preparing our students for the demands of the industry. Our curriculum emphasises hands-on learning, interdisciplinary research, industry collaboration, and international exposure, preparing you for careers across engineering, manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, energy, robotics, and emerging technologies.
