The Department of Respiratory Therapy at the Manipal College of Health Professions (MCHP), Mangalore Campus, MAHE was established in 2017 under the Department of Anaesthesiology, Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore. The department offers comprehensive education in respiratory care, combining classroom learning with extensive clinical training in critical care and pulmonary medicine. You gain hands-on experience in diagnosing and managing patients with cardiopulmonary disorders using advanced respiratory care technologies and evidence-based clinical practices.

Highlights

Established in 2017 with a focus on advanced respiratory care education.

Extensive clinical training in Medical ICUs, Neonatal & Paediatric ICUs, Emergency & Trauma Care Units, Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT), and Sleep Laboratories.

Hands-on exposure to mechanical ventilation, airway management, arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis, pulmonary rehabilitation, and respiratory diagnostics.

Training using modern simulation laboratories, advanced ventilators, respiratory care equipment, and intensive care facilities.

Close interdisciplinary collaboration with the Departments of Anaesthesiology, Emergency Medicine, Pulmonology, Paediatrics, Neonatology, and Sleep Medicine.
