Department of Radiodiagnosis & Imaging
Established in 1962, the Department of Radiodiagnosis & Imaging at Kasturba Medical College, Manipal is an integral part of imaging, diagnosis, treatment, and post treatment follow up of every patient, striving to reduce hospital stay and accelerate the recovery process. The department integrates diagnostic imaging services, research activities, academic pursuits, and inter-departmental teachings and collaborations, performing 200–250 ultrasound scans, 600 radiographs, 140 CT scans, and 60 MRI scans daily along with mammograms, special radiographic procedures, angiograms, and image guided interventions, and has nurtured Musculoskeletal Imaging as a subspecialty along with image guided biliary and vascular interventions.

- Research is one of the main aspects of routine department work, with postgraduates carrying out thesis research under the guidance of professors, supported by state-of-the-art imaging equipment such as MRI, MDCT, digital mammography, and hi-end ultrasound.
