Overview

Dental Hygienist means a person not being a Dentist or a Medical Practitioner who scales, cleans or polishes teeth or gives instructions regarding dental hygiene.  He shall work under the supervision of the Registered Dental Surgeon.

 

 

Course Structure

Course includes Theory and Practical sessions with basic Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacology, Pathology, Microbiology, Radiology, Dental Hygiene, Community Dental Health, Dental Ethics and Dental Materials.  Basic knowledge of Computers, Jurisprudence & Orientation to Dentistry is included

The course comprises of year end examination in each year which includes Theory, Oral & Practical

Eligibility

  • Duration: 2 years (Full time)

Eligibility for Diploma in Dental Hygienist :

  • A candidate should be at least 17 years at the time of admission & medically fit to pursue the course
  • A candidate must have passed 10+2  or two years intermediate or equivalent course thereof with Science subjects i.e Physics, Chemistry and Biology from a recognized Indian University or Pre-University / Intermediate Board
