The statistical sciences interact with virtually every discipline in science, social science, and engineering. Research interests in the Department of Statistics at Manipal University are similarly widespread like genetics, nuclear science, biomedical etc. The research environment in the department is vibrant with an active community of PhD students, excellent library, computing and other research support facilities and sustained programmes of research seminars, workshops and international visitors. Faculty and students participate in research activities of other departments or institutions under the University through the Statistical Consulting. Specific interests of faculty members include meta analysis, statistical genetics, multi level modelling, Baysian methods, linear algebra and medical education.
