Scope of the Programme 


Master of Public Health (MPH)

The Master course in Public Health has been introduced at an appropriate time when the whole world has been looking for trained Public Health professionals to tackle the emerging challenges. The larger objective of the course would be to build capacity in Public Health both at National and International levels.

The course would also help students in understanding the health problems in the developing world and how to address these problems. The course would promote research and training so that the concepts learnt are well applied and realised to tackle the health problems.

Special features

  • This course will have five core subjects which include Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Environmental Health sciences, Health administration and Social and Behavioural Sciences.
  • The Curriculum is developed in collaboration with University of Alabama at Birmingham, USA. It is also at par with the requirements of the World Health Organisation (WHO), Centre for Disease Control (CDC) and Council for Education in Public Heath (CEPH).


Certificate course in Public Health


The Certificate course in Public Health has been introduced at an appropriate time when the whole world has been looking for trained public health professionals to tackle the emerging challenges. The larger objective of the course would be to build capacity in public health both at national and global levels.

Participation of students from elsewhere in the world, particularly, European Countries would be a larger part of the effort in creating awareness in the field. It would also help in understanding the health problems in the developing world and in addressing them with sincerity and seriousness. The course would promote research and on-the-field training to facilitate the application and realisation of the concepts during the course.


Master of Social Work (MSW)

The scope of social work is very wide. Social work training provides a strong foundation to the trainees to build their career in governmental sector like labour welfare department, hospitals, women and child welfare department, local self governance and Urban development. There are lot of opportunities in a number of both national and international organizations including UNICEF, WHO, ILO etc. There is a great amount of scope for placement in other clinical, corporate, education and developmental sector like private hospitals, counselling centres, industries and research institutions.
