Undergraduate students (VII and VIII semester) are posted to the department of anaesthesiology for 15 days for clinical training. They are posted in rotation to the different units of Anaesthesiology in Government Wenlock Hospital and KMC Hospital, Attavar. During this period, they have to undergo regular clinics, see demonstrations of general and regional anaesthetic techniques and are exposed to cardio-pulmonary resuscitation training undertaken by the faculty members of the department. Didactic lectures are conducted for IX semester MBBS, Physiotherapy and dental students. Interns undergo training in all the operation theatres and ICUs during their rotation, for a period of 15 days. The staff nurses in the KMC Hospitals are also provided frequent in-service training in life support, infection control and patient management.
