• The student council is composed of the core committee and the elected representatives of all the batches
• The core committee consists of the President, Vice President, General Secretary, Joint secretary, Sports secretary, Cultural secretary, Lady Representative, and Magazine editor

The core committee of the student council is selected by the dean and the faculty based on the overall academic and extracurricular performance of the students who are interested in the post.

The primary functions of the student council are:

• To represent the student body to the Dean, faculty and management
• To assist in conducting the Orientation, Sports, Awards and Annual Days of the college
• To assist in the speedy acclimatization of new students to Manipal

The student council shall be assisted by an advisor, who shall be nominated by the Dean from among the faculty of KMCIC.
