Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from an accredited institution or should have 90 credits of college work. The following are prerequisite courses:
- One year (8 hours) of Inorganic or General Chemistry with labs
- One year (8 hours) of Organic Chemistry with labs
- One year (8 hours) of General Biology or Zoology with labs
- One year (6 hours) of English
- One Semester (3 hours) of Physics with labs
- One Semester (3 hours) of Mathematics (Calculus or Statistics)
Students who have taken advanced science courses such as Biochemistry, Anatomy/ Physiology, Genetics, Microbiology and other important subjects will be given preference for basic science program. The Admissions Committee employs various factors in evaluating applicants, including academic achievement and personal characteristics. The admissions committee also looks beyond GPA calculations and test scores in order to determine motivation, maturity, leadership ability and knowledge of the medical field.
(Students who have completed IB, GCE London/ Cambridge/ Edexcel ‘A’ Levels, HSC, NCEA or equivalent examinations will also be considered. Credits will be given in the premedical program if students have completed college level courses in physics, chemistry, biology, calculus, psychology, English, etc.)
