8. Dr. G. B. Jayanth Kumar gold medal in Operative Dentistry endowed by his parents.
9. Amar Kashyap Bhargava Memorial Gold Medal for securing highest marks in prosthodontics endowed by Dr. K. Bhargava.
10. Vidya Tandon memorial Gold medal instituted by Professor Shobha Tandon for the best out-going post-graduate student in Pedodontics & Preventive Dentistry.
11. Lt .Col. Prof.Vasanth Krishna Bopardikar memorial prize instituted by the staff of pharmacology department, KMC, Manipal for securing highest marks in Pharmacology in Second BDS Examination.
12. Vidya Tandon memorial award instituted by Professor Shobha Tandon for the best out-going student for securing the highest marks in Pedodontics & Preventive Dentistry in Final BDS examination.
13. Certificate of Excellence for attending all the classes conducted by the college.
 
Some of the notable achievements by students in recent years is briefed below:

Provenance is a competition sponsored by MUTBI (Manipal University Technology Business Incubator) to foster technological entrepreneurship by individuals / teams. The winning teams will be assisted to turn into reality a worthy product (software or hardware novelty) with academic industry as well as logistical support. R.Sreevatsan, Kanwar Singh, Manvendra Singh Galhot, all interns of MCODS, Manipal entered this competition with the idea of manufacturing customized mouthguards, with help from their guides, Dr. Manish Bhagania, Assistant Professor, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and Mr. Nagaraja Upadhya P, Selection Grade Lecturer, Dept of Dental Materials.
109 teams took part in the competition by submitting a short business proposal or an executive summary in the correct business jargon. 39 made it to the 2nd round and were required to provide a detailed business plan which was to include full risk analysis, financial revenue model etc. for the next 5 years. Only 16 finalists were taken for a private presentation and interview in front of esteemed judges such the Director of MUTBI, Director of TAPMI, Director of MIT, Head of the South Asian Division of Entrepreneurs along with noted personalities from Chennai and Bangalore.
The final interview took place on October 23, 2010 at Manipal.
*SMK Mouthguards* by Kanwar Singh, Raghavan Sreevatsan and Manvendra Singh Gahlot procured the 1st prize winning Rs.5 Lakh. In addition to this, the finalized teams were invited to attend a lecture on “entrepreneurship” by Mr. S.R. Nair, Managing Director of Team Frontline and member of the Kerala State Venture Capital Board.
Overall an excellent learning experience for all teams.


Mr. Rushil Dang, IIIrd BDS student participated in the clinical model competition at the IDA, National Conference, Nagpur and won the first prize. The award made him eligible to participate in the IDA/ DENTSPLY student clinician research programme and includes travel prize which entitles him to attend the 150th annual session of the American Dental Association to be held at Honolulu, Hawaii, USA & also a free student membership of SCADA society.

Dr. Murtaza Z. T. Ali was adjudged the best speaker and Dr. Munira Baldiwala was the runner up in the contest entitled ‘My favorite Esthetic Dental Procedure’ held on the Indian Academy of Aesthetic & Cosmetic Dentistry Foundation Day, in August 2008. Dr. Murtaza was further invited to attend and present a scientific paper at the Annual Conference of the Academy held at Goa in September 2008.

Our institute students performed very well in qualifying examinations for further studies all round globally. A total of 28 students got selected in the year 2008 and they were admitted to various prestigious dental institutes for post-graduation courses in all specialties.
