This department was started in 1965 along with the inception of the Dental College. Since then it has evolved over the years to match the international standards. Now the department has the following facilities:

• Well equipped 34 dental chairs from Kavo (Germany), J. Morita Corporation (Japan) and Confident (India)
• Departmental library is adequately stocked with textbooks and internet facility to use advanced technology such Medline search
• Two well equipped departmental laboratory, one each for undergraduates and postgraduates
• Three labs for preclinical prosthodontic work including a phantom head lab, which caters to the need of 100 students
• A separate casting and ceramic lab with the latest equipment and material is also available which is capable of functioning as a commercial dental laboratory
• Recent materials and latest equipments like RVG, IPS Empress 2 etc has added to the new dimension in treatment planning
